Start with the required tools, choose one instant builder, and keep Vercel as an optional hosting path.

HARNESS
Choose your development harness
Your harness is where your agent works on project files and runs development tools during Phase 2. I use Codex. Your phone companion is a separate choice below.
ChatGPT is my personal preference for development. For the way I work, the usage allowance feels generous and the connectivity is among the best. Most importantly, I like the interface. That is why I use Codex for development. Your actual limits depend on your plan and the work you give it.
No AI subscription yet? If you decide to try ChatGPT, you can use my optional referral link.
Claude Code is the development harness for working on your project. I see it as a strong enterprise-oriented option; compare paid-plan costs for heavier use. The Claude phone companion is a separate role, covered below.
I would point you toward Cursor if you are serious about getting into development as a whole, or interested in agents that work on longer tasks. It puts the editor and project workflow at the center. Check which cloud and long-running capabilities your plan includes.
Antigravity is a Phase 2 computer option, especially if you already use Google services. Check what your plan includes. Gemini is not a supported companion for this pack.

COMPUTER SETUP
Your IDE follows your harness
Your agent installs and configures it as part of the approved setup batch.
Required: a signed-in companion on your phone, separate from your development harness.
Supported: ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor. Gemini is not supported; other companions may vary.
For Antigravity users or those with untested or unsupported harnesses, free Claude Sonnet is a Phase 1 workaround. Sonnet 4.6 at Medium effort has been enough within the free allowance in my testing; use those settings when available.
